‘Catastrophe’.

Having been a designer working for different companies for over 30 years, my work has generally been dictated by others. I have now broken free from the confines and am producing work that mirrors the real ‘me’ …..and loving every minute of it! Colour is my love and my inspiration. I am driven by a passion as I translate my thoughts and feelings into vivid pastels and oil paintings. If I can raise an eyebrow or a smile, then I have succeeded!

Tasting Freedom

Shelley Rose began his artistic career as a printmaker for the distinguished artist Michael Rothenstein RA in the early 70’s, and went on to teach at Goldsmith and Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London. In time his own work in abstract print and still life and landscape photography has emerged from the observation of the quality and character of light and light phenomena, translated into the medium of printed colour.

After seven annual exhibitions a Ripley, the Multi Media exhibitors’ duo has unfortunately come to an end, Don Cranefield feels age and distance is too big a combination. Derrick, however, will still be displaying his carved and colourful ceramics, paintings in varied styles and computer graphics. As usual all proceeds will be donated to St Christopher’s Hospice.

Allan produces landscapes and seascapes in many different media – oil, water-colour, acrylic, pastel and ink, and also in mixed media – pastel laid on gouache – ink, water-colour and gouache. For this exhibition he has returned to oil on canvas and has reduced his usually large canvases to 50 cm x 40 cm, all with identical front-loaded frames.

Urban Landscapes

Since graduating in Graphic Design from Kingston Polytechnic in 1986, I worked for over 12 years as a freelance illustrator. In recent years I have worked on private commissions and my own personal work.

In the last 12 months I have been inspired to paint people and buildings in Penge and the surrounding area. The High Street, as in many towns, is a place of change and already one of the shops I painted – Kennedy’s – has closed down.
