Although my major influence lies in the natural landscape, this exhibition seeks to explore the relationship of form and colour, experimenting with the idea that painting can capture the essence of emotion through the imagination of the artist. Angie Hurst.

ANGIE HURST – ARTIST

A passionate and creative artist, Angie’s paintings cover a broad range of work from majestic figurative landscapes to dazzling abstracts.

Angie works in acrylic paint, using earth tones and monochromes with brush and knife. Taking inspiration from nature, she enjoys stark, rugged landscapes and open spaces, exploring the changing effects of light and weather on land, sea and sky.

Watercolour is an important part of her creative expression, which she uses to paint studies or capture impressions when working outside in the landscape. Angie also works in pure abstract form, observing the world around her to inspire her imagination and creativity, which she expresses in exciting dramatic colours.

“My major influence lies in the natural landscape. My goals are to capture the majesty within the image, to create movement, exploring mood and atmosphere.”
