Dorian Burt

Open evening 31st May 7.30-9.30pm Dorian Burt was born in 1948 in Ilford, Essex. He is a graduate of the Royal College of Art and was awarded the Japanese Government Sponsor ship to study Sculpture in Japan. He is a former lecturer in fine-art from Sheffield Hallam University. Dorian’s past exhibitions include the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Serpentine gallery, London and his works hang in many private collections. |
“My digital photography sometimes explores themes like ‘how architecture can be made more interesting and imaginative’ or I may experiment with different juxtapositions of forms, structures and the human figure in order to evoke a particular mood or feeling. Many images are a type of ‘self portrait’ in so far as they express my reactions to events at a particular time or place.
"My photographs are not ‘illustrations of stories’ and the viewer are invited to interpret the pictures in any way they wish.”
