Geoff Nutkins12th November - 20th December 2002
The son of former 180 Squadron RAF bomber crewman, himself an artist, Geoff Nutkins grew up with a deep interest in the history of the air war over Europe and has been painting for over twenty years. Though Geoff's personal passion lies with the Battle of Britain period, his natural talents as an artist have produced many highly diversified and commended works including: The Hunters, Salute to the Few, Battle over London, Aces High and the magnificent Scenes of the Battle of Britain collection which raised over £100,000 in support of the RAF benevolent Fund Reach for the Sky appeal. His paintings are now highly sought after and are displayed in many private collections world wide as well as in such institutions as the RAF Staff College, Cranwell, the Royal Air Force Museum, Hendon and the RAF Club, Piccadilly, London. A set from his Scenes of the Battle of Britain have also been presented to Her Majesty The Queen Mother at Clarence House in London. ![]() Geoff is a member of the Guild of Aviation Artists winning the much-coveted Nockhold Trophy at the annual exhibitions 1998 and 1999. He is also a keen aviation archaeologist and is the founder of the Shoreham Aircraft Museum in Shoreham Village, Kent, England. |
