Lindsay is interested in the beautiful patterns, textures and designs found in everyday items, especially food, and explore this in Oil, Acrylic and Lino Print. "In Oil and Acrylic I look to the Dutch school’s sumptuous portrayal of food in still life for inspiration, playing with hyper-realism and unreal scale. I like the decorative element of lino print, as well as the expressive quality of line created by the cutting process. In this medium, I focus on the design and pattern I find in simple still life objects, like lemons, fish or chillies. Alongside the still life images, I am exploring the numerical patterns that create natural forms like the nautilus shell and ammonites.”
