Mark Paul Perry Exhibition

Note:
This exhibition only is open Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm.
Appointment not necessary

Mark Paul Perry was born in London in 1967 and originally trained as a musician. Mark worked as a manager and producer before forming his own band, “State of Mind”, with whom he was a guitarist and song-writer and performed for nearly a decade. Three years ago Mark began to develop his creative potential and studied art by himself.

His passion for and love of art prompted him to find an alternative form of self expression through painting. In his work, Mark seeks to communicate on a variety of different levels. The most important element and that which so clearly defines his paintings, is his attempt to find affinity and emotional resonance with the viewer.

Mark uses oil and acrylic on canvas and linen, which he manipulates not only with traditional tools, but also a knife and airbrush to obtain the texture and movement desired. Mark’s paintings can be found in private, commercial and corporate collections throughout Europe and abroad.

Mark Paul Perry’s works began to attract public attention – including the national and local press. Mark exhibits his works regularly and has been commissioned to produce paintings in London, Europe and overseas. In October 2003 Mark’s works were exhibited at the Affordable Art Fair in New York by London based company The Art Movement.

Mark was recently commissioned to produce his largest painting to date, for the Chairman of the World Famous Group, based Chelsea Village at Stamford Gate House at the entrance to the home of the Chelsea Football Club. Mark painted a 5 feet high by 12 feet wide triptych portraying Chelsea Football club’s vibrant colours of blue. This event was also covered by the press.

Mark Paul Perry: “I love the simplicity in form which I portray through the use of colour and texture on canvas. My paintings are inspired by snapshots of specific moments in time or through memories of particular events in my own life. I endeavour to capture these moods and emotions in the most basic form – light, colour and texture – which represent their fundamental essence”.
