Nancy Thomas - ‘Home & Away’
4th April to 29th April 2006
Private view 4th April 7.30-9.30pm

An interesting collection of traditional and contemporary landscapes in pastel, watercolour and oil by local artist Nancy Thomas.

Nancy has travelled extensively throughout the world, the furthest distance being New Zealand. Her paints always go with her. She works in oils, watercolour and , her favourite at present, pastel. Because of her travels she has paintings in private collections in Australia, America, Canada, Ecuador, Norway, South Africa and the British Isles. Her paintings reflect her travels but she still thinks the Lake District and Scotland cannot be beaten for magnificent scenery, especially the mountains.

She has exhibited in Not the Royal Academy held at the llewellyn Alexander Gallery every year since 1992 and has appeared on television three times for the Gallery. Other exhibitions featuring Nancy’s work were Alexander Palace, United Artists Westminster, Rye Open Exhibition, University of the Third Age, Evegate Farm Art Gallery, Lathe Barn near Hythe as well as at Church mouse in Hythe.

She also exhibits with the Tunbridge Wells Art Society, Orpington Art Club and Knockholt Art Club as she is a member of these Kent Art Clubs and enjoys participating in their various activities.

Apart from the above she has had one-woman exhibitions at Evegate and Church Mouse galleries, 2- woman at Lullingstone Centre and 4-woman here at Ripley Arts Centre, Bromley.

Nancy still goes on painting courses and has attended courses run by David Bellamy, Barry Watkins, Bob Erends, Graham Oliver, Rod Williams, Kathy Todd on Tresco and Marie Blake as she feels you never stop learning!
