Ripley Arts Club consists of a small group of artists who meet on a regular basis every Wednesday morning at Ripley Art Centre. This group began 12 years ago and was initially tutored by local lecturer and artist Brian Pratt. The group has progressed over the years in leaps and bounds with several exhibitions at Ripley and other venues and Brian, now retired, continues to practice alongside his ‘previous’ students. |
The Artists set themselves a very high standard in working practice, using various mediums such as oil, watercolour, acrylics, pastel and pen and ink portraying many different subjects from landscapes to abstracts. Some are hung in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and America.
The group will be pleased to discuss their artistic interests with anyone who wishes to drop by on the Open evening to view, and to share a glass of wine.
Works featured include mixed media and subject matter from this local group of artists who meet weekly at Ripley Arts Centre.
