‘The Magic of Myanmar’

July to 25th July 2003 - Weekdays

Rod has lived in Bromley for the past 25 years and has used travel and
photography to escape from his busy life as a veterinary surgeon. These
photographs are a product of those twin passions.
“I have been taking photographs now for over 40 years and if practice
is important, so is a wonderful subject like Myanmar (Burma). Whether
Myanmar is for you “The Golden Land” or a politically unacceptable
enigma, no one can doubt the beauty of the countryside and its people.
Political isolation has kept away the influences of the west as well as
tourists and the timeless nature of Buddhism permeates every aspect of
life.
The
photographs I am showing here in Bromley are intended to reflect the positive
attributes of present day Myanmar. I hope you will find the images informative
as well as decorative.”
Open evening 7th July 7.30-9.30pm
