Drawing with Thread
Rosie James is a Textile Artist who is exploring drawing with the sewing machine. The works in this exhibition show how her drawings are stitched onto organza and linen using black thread and sometimes combined with collaged fabrics and screen printing. The starting point for many of the drawings are crowds or groups of people. Each figure is stitched individually and overlapped, the threads are left loose to create the feel of a scribbly sketchy style of drawing.
