Stephanie Rawkins - MY SPACE
23rd November to 22nd December 2005

Stephanie Rawkins left Ravensbourne College of Fine Art with the
NDD in Fine Art (Sculpture ) and for the last 38 years has, with
her husband, produced textile designs for production in their own
handprinting Mill in Kent.
Projects have varied from faithful replications
of historical documents for English Heritage to fabulous murals
in sheiks palaces in the Middle East.
Throughout this time her painting has evolved from
delicate and sensitive pastels of her surroundings, through pen
line drawings that became intricate three dimensional, wire-line,
coloured constructions, to her current passion for spatial paint
and textiles, on canvas. This lineage has followed a thoughtful
journey where her fine line drawing has had various partners of
cut card, pastels, paint and cloth, but always retained the structural
beauty of the works. Her colour schemes have always been honed by
her textile expertise.
For Stephanie it is an adventure...
