David Walls & Eric Gibson
3rd February to 27th February 2004
Dave
Walls is a self-taught artist and has been painting for a number
of years. He has used watercolours in the past but now prefers to paint
only in oils and occasionally uses charcoal. Since retirement he has had
more time to enjoy his art and is a member of the Knockholt Art Club and
the Orpington Art Club. He exhibits with them throughout the year.
Eric Gibson was born in Dundee, Scotland and followed
a career in Management and as a College lecturer. In 1995 he took early
retirement and shortly afterwards he and his wife Morag moved to Kent.
Eric was then able to devote more of his time to his love of painting
in watercolour and oils, and drawing in pencil and charcoal, which he
had pursued over a number of years.
Eric’s current main interests in art are architectural and landscape
subjects, particularly of rural scenes in Kent. He also enjoys drawing
and painting still life, skyscapes and figure studies. Eric has exhibited
extensively, including a number of one-man exhibitions. His work is represented
in many collections throughout the U.K. and abroad; he is a member of,
(and has served on the committees of), both Orpington Art Club and Knockholt
Art Club.
