Ripley Development Appeal

Plan of Ripley Today

Last year 18,000 visitors passed through Ripley's doors - but, if it is to maintain its distinguished place in the artistic life of the local community, upgrading is essential.

Arts funding is notoriously difficult to achieve. Please do consider the contribution you can make towards ensuring Ripley's continued role in fostering and developing the arts in Bromley in the years to come.

Ripley Today

Ripley Arts Centre falls into three distinct and independent areas, each with its own inherent problems: the Studio (formerly a double garage), the Pottery (once the open space between the garage and the main house), and the house itself.

The Aim

Our plan for Ripley
  • To increase and improve WC facilities
  • To upgrade the Studio and unify the three areas
  • To form an exhibition space with seating in the area presently occupied by the Pottery and adjacent Victorian scullery and larder
  • To level the floors and install a wheelchair ramp between the new Exhibition area and the Studio
  • To create additional storage
  • To re-surface and double the size of the Car Park

The Cost

£180,000

Ways of Giving

Personal Donations
By cheque payable to 'BAC Ripley Fund'.
If you also sign the Gift Aid declaration that you are a tax payer Ripley is able to reclaim tax on your donations and will benefit by an additional £2.82 for every £10 you donate.

Gift of Shares
A new income tax relief for gifts of shares provides a particularly tax-efficient way of giving to charity for individuals who have Capital Gains Tax (CGT) liability This share-giving technique enables the individual to claim full income tax relief on the value of the gift and frees them from the need to pay Capital Gains Tax

Company Donations
Companies no longer have to deduct tax from their Gift Aid donations. They simply pay the full amount and claim tax relief themselves when calculating their profits for Corporation Tax.

Spreading your Donation

If, rather than a single lump sum, you would prefer to make a series of smaller payments as donations under Gift Aid, please complete the Standing Order instruction and return it, together with the Gift Aid declaration, to: Ripley Fund Treasurer, Ripley Arts Centre, 24 Sundridge Avenue, Bromley BRl 2PX.
