This is a joint exhibition of paintings by Kenneth Head and Roger Lewis, both professional artists and elected members of the Society of Graphic Fine Art [ SGFA], The Armed Forces Art Society [AFAS] and locally with the Croydon Art Society.

After a continuous London career in commercial art both as an artist and studio manager, Roger eventually concentrated on producing Fine Art drawings and paintings.

A prime consideration is sound basic drawing expertise, hence his commitment as a past President of the professional Society of Graphic Fine Art [ founded 1919 ] exhibiting continuously with them since 1998.

He is also an elected member of the Armed Forces Art Society [ AFAS ] and a ‘Gold’ Signature member of the United Kingdom Coloured Pencil Society [ UKCPS ].

His paintings have also featured in art techniques books published by the American “International Artist” magazine and the British “Painting World”. He has achieved many awards for his work and is listed in “Who’s Who in Art” and “Dictionary of International Biography”.

A solo exhibition in 2001 preceded his regular Tuesday adult art tuition classes at The Ripley Arts Centre, Bromley and, in some previous years, “Art Events” courses in Reigate, Surrey, tutoring in most drawing and painting techniques. Further interests include contributing illustrated features, step – by – step demonstrations and critiques for the art press and at meetings of local art groups and some private tuition.

A painter in Watercolour, Oil and Acrylic, Ken’s main interest in Fine Art is architectural landscape.  He received training at Twickenham Technical College after which he became a Graphic Artist working in central London specialising in illustration, photo – retouching and lettering.  He is an expert airbrush artist and, before the advent of computer-simulated airbrush effects, produced a good proportion of the finished artwork for colour- gradated designs used in commercial packaging, such as Benson and Hedges Superkings, Gillette, Johnnie Walker, Typhoo, Dunhill and many others.
Member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art [ SGFA ] which exhibits at the Menier Gallery, Southwark, and other venues countrywide.  He is also a Member of the Armed Forces Art Society [ AFAS ] exhibiting at the Mall Galleries, London.  He is a

Member of the long established Croydon Art Society and has held solo exhibitions in the South East.  His work also hangs in several Fine Art Galleries.

Ken has recently exhibited in London with:  The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour at the Mall Galleries, the Royal Society of Marine Artists also at Mall Galleries and open exhibitions organised by the Royal Watercolour Society at the Bankside Gallery and the Chelsea Art Society.
