I work from the human body, kitchen paraphernalia and landscape. My intention is to make the subject of the painting or drawing like the vibration when wind disturbs the surface of water. Julie Frampton
I draw and paint my immediate environment My garden, my kitchen, the places I love to roam.
The subject of my work is limited which gives me the freedom to experiment with diverse materials and to express differing responses. I am trying to achieve a vibration in the work. The resistance of the materials is an element in achieving this vibration. I like to work on paper particularly the heavily textured karhi paper, this causes a struggle between me , the materials and the subject.
The painters who have had the most consistent influence on me are Giorgio Morandi and Pierre Bonnard.
