This series of work is the culmination of A level work by current sixth form students at The Priory School. Ideas have been developed through sketchbooks initially and demonstrate students skills in using a wide range of media. Students are encouraged to be flexible in their approach to using and combining materials and choose to work in painting, mixed media, collage, textiles. Throughout their course, students have gained an understanding of the work of other artists, they are able to critically analyse and evaluate images and relate concepts to their own work. Using inspiration sourced from observational drawing, gallery and exhibition visits their ideas have evolved into highly personal and creative results. Many of our students are in the process of applying to Higher education courses in Art and we wish them every success in the future.
