Roger Lewis & Friends – THE ART SHOW

A new exhibition of paintings created by students attending Roger Lewis’s art sessions at the Ripley Arts Centre. The Open Evening of Tuesday 27th September will also include designs for sale by Silversmith Susan Beale, together with original cards and calendars by artist Joan Longley.

The practical art tuition classes in the studio room at Ripley have been operational for 16 years and consist of six – week art sessions of 3 hours per session and are designed to encourage both beginners with no experience who would like to start painting and those who have a little painting knowledge but wish to take their work further and now require more advanced information on how to proceed. There are two skill levels enabling the tutor, professional artist Roger Lewis, to assess the abilities of each student, though it may take more than one course to achieve a satisfactory standard. This exhibition is intended to show the high standards that have now been reached by the students.
