In this exhibition, Ruth is presenting several series: “Self Impression” where an impression of herself is combined with the seasons, and the follow-on variations where the shapes and textures of each season are investigated. Currently focusing on screenprinting and linocut, Ruth enjoys using multiple processes to create a layered image.
Ruth’s many sources of inspiration include nature, poetry, literature, music, maps and architecture. She enjoys noticing details, capturing them with pencil, camera or memory and then combining shapes and textures to create colourful and bold images.
Over the past year, during which Ruth has commenced studying for a BA (Hons) in Printmaking at UCCA Maidstone, her work has evolved towards the creation of a series of images on a theme, each image being an original print.
