Joy Philippou – Straight Line Dynamics (Ring to view)
26th July to 19th August 2011
p/view 26th July 7-9pm

This new collection is yet another of Joy’s stylistic inventions, completely differing from the style of Dancing Rainbows, her last exhibition held at Ripley Arts Centre. This versatile artist delights in expressing her artistic talent and viewers can be treated to Twenty of Joy’s most recent abstractions.

Joy Philippou studied at the Academie Des Beaux Arts in Beyrouth and Brighton Training College, specialised in Icon painting, tutelage of Georg Alexandrevich Alleeff, Russian Court Painter.
Joy has exhibited in the States, India, Greece, France , the Middle East and around the UK. A versatile artist she also delights in expressing her artistic talent by experimenting in abstract works which have won her praise from Parisian critics.

Her Icons and abstract works have been shown on British Television and written about extensively in both the UK and European Press. Though she has been too busy writing her books , seventeen of which may be viewed on the internet and has had little time for painting and exhibiting her work, this year she is able to show twenty one of her most recent abstractions.

Joy Philippou accepts commissions for icons, restoration of paintings and frames. She also accepts commissions for murals and children’s murals. Photographs are available to view ‘before’ and ‘after’ images of restoration work as well as press articles.
