‘Bloomin London’ is an exhibition of Sam’s favourite places in London and the beautiful flowers that you can find in the area. Despite London being Sam’s birthplace she is constantly finding new places to inspire her.
‘I moved to Kent from London 27 years ago and although Kent is the prettiest county I know, I gravitate back to London on a regular basis.
After studying graphic design and art history I worked in the graphics field for 30 years and now finally I have a bit more time to paint and I do so on a daily basis! I think my work is quite stylised, which probably stems from working in graphic design and I?am constantly inspired by the beauty I see around me.
I like bright colours, my preferred medium is watercolour with a dash of acrylics – and I?am inspired by the wild brush strokes and colours of Fauvism, and the beauty of Impressionism and my favourite artists are Van Gogh, Henri Matisse, Georges Seurat, and Degas.
I have recently been kept extremely busy with animal portraits and commissioned pieces, I’ve painted a couple of celebrity pieces and also a Crufts champion.
