Sezgin and David are pleased to be asked to stage another joint exhibition of our work for 2011. There will be some fresh images to enjoy ranging from impressions of Norfolk and Northern Cyprus. In between there will be pictures from nearer home.

Although British, Sezgin Kemal’s roots lie in North Cyprus – an island she left when she was two years old. Her RAF father and itinerant lifestyle  of schools in Malta, Germany and nearly every county of the British Isles has led to many educational  experiences and her most creative work is always achieved in North Cyprus- with the mountain range of St. Hilarion, the port of Kyrenia and the flowers and wildlife of the natural olive groves. A photo- montage of personal snapshots from the island will bring the island and experiences together. Sezgin’s passion for collage ideas  – with David’s clear sighted vision and photography will  show the strength and beauty  at the heart of things.

 

‘By contrast with Sezgin I was born and bred in Beckenham and still live there.  I have nevertheless travelled both here and abroad and my photography in countries of South America  has been shown in previous exhibitions at Ripley. This time my pictures mostly depict some shots taken in Norfolk in September this year when I spent an enjoyable weekend at Hunstanton with a party of other photographers.  There are some visual art items as well as factual record shots which I hope you will enjoy.’ David Wood
