I live in Farningham, Kent in the Darenth Valley, the ‘Golden Valley’ of Samuel Palmer which provides me with much inspiration. My work is about the land, the hills, the sky, the light and all that gives a landscape a strong ‘sense of place’.

I seek to explore the intensity or subtlety of light, the shape and colour of the land, the harmony of colours and the atmospheric perspective which all come together to evoke and conjure up different moods, feelings, memories and a sense of place. These feelings and memories link the present with the past giving a sense of timelessness.

My inspiration for landscape studies comes from walks through the countryside. I feel we have a strong relationship to the land and the landscape engaging with it in an emotional way. All of my work is of the land where I live or have visited.

I have had work selected and shown with the Royal Society of British Artists in 2014 at the Mall Galleries London and I have had my work shown at the Antique Dealers Fair Ltd at Linden Hall Northumberland, Mere Cheshire and Harewood House Harrogate in 2015.
