Brian Gale: Travel Highlights and Animals too.
18th June to 19th July 2013
Open eve: 19th June 7-9pm
Acrylic painting by Brian Gale. A realistic snapshot of a place or animal.
A group of cats, Sea Gulls on the rocks, a Summer’s day out, a leaping dormouse in Autumn;
All painted with a desire to capture the texture, light and colour of the scene.
Artists’ Statement
I work with Acrylics and inspired by traditional representational art I like to paint a variety of subjects. These come mainly from attempting to convey the excitement of a day out, a scene from daily life or drawn from the imagination. The aim is to capture the harmony and beauty of the image using colour texture and light.
Although always involved with art in some form I have only started painting seriously in the last three years, but now it is now a daily joy.

Travel Highlights and Animals too:
This exhibition contains realistic acrylic paintings by Brian Gale of places and animals. A group of cats, a walk down a ravine, a summer’s day out all inspired by a desire to capture the light colour and texture of the image.
After a lifetime involved in graphics art editing and management I retired and decided to fulfil a long held ambition to paint. So for three years now I have been producing paintings on many subjects from animals and portraits to landscapes and seascapes and imaginary ideas. I joined the Croydon Art Society and this has encouraged me to exhibit and accept commissions.
The sole aim is to capture the harmony and beauty of an image using colour texture and light to produce a painting that satisfies the owner and maybe a smile.
