13th February to 22nd March 2019
Open evening 15th February 7-9pm

James O’Hara is a Belfast born artist who has lived in London since 1987. Inspired by David Hockney’s iPad artwork James has developed his own unique style of iPad work. His exhibition ‘Night and Day’ is his first journey into the world of digital art.

James O’Hara’s move to London to realise his ambition as an artist. After an small exhibition in Streatham Library in 1989 he lost a portfolio of his work. This was very disheartening and he found it difficult to continue drawing. James started to write short stories and poems but his creative side slowly diminished when he started working as a carer and he started raising his family. At the age of 60 James decided he wanted to rekindle his artistic side and began taking life drawing classes again. A member of the SE20 Art-group and SE20 ArtSpace James has exhibited in local cafes and SE20 Art-groups Spring and Summer exhibitions. Inspired by David Hockney iPad art and using the versatility of the iPad application James has developed his own unique style working from original drawings and original photographs. This is James’s first solo exhibition of his artwork. The exhibition theme Night and Day is a culmination of the last six months of work and travels home to Northern Ireland, New York and visits to London.
