Steve Sargeant: The World Beneath
12th February to 23rd March 2019

An exhibition of abstract art at the Ripley Arts Centre Bromley. The theme of this exhibition uses scrape back techniques to reveal forms and shapes below the surface, thus inviting the viewer to use their imagination in searching for those hidden forms.

I am a self-taught artist who has painted for the last 40 years and have exhibited extensively both in Kent and London.
I currently have works exhibited at the What If Gallery in Dartford and also Capital Art Gallery Eltham and have a forthcoming exhibition at Forty Five in Whitstable Kent in Feb 2019. I am available to deliver art workshops and tutorial sessions.
In terms of medium, style and subject matter, I have worked in a variety of mediums including pastels, acrylics, oils and cold wax, resin and mica pigments, encaustic wax and watercolours. My subjects have included representational portraits, both human and animal, dancers and life drawings as well as abstract
For the last couple of years I have focused on abstract works. My passion is form, movement, colour and energy. I hope to create works which the viewer finds evocative, interesting and thought provoking.
I am more than happy to produce bespoke works which take into account a client’s colour décor and furnishings.
