The focus of Mary’s work is colour and texture. She works predominantly with transparent glass, often combined with luxurious gold and iridescent finishes and sections of opaque glass to create unique wall panels and hangings.Mary is particularly interested in the ideas of concealment and revelation as expressed by layering and fragmentation and the use of opposing materials. Her inspiration comes from the environment, natural and man-made. In her work she enjoys focusing on details, such as pebbles in a stream, ice on a pond or sections of a rock face.
