ROGER LEWIS’S STUDENTS ART EXHIBITION
2nd November to 21st December 2017
Open evening 3rd November 7-9pm
The practical art tuition classes in the studio room at Ripley have been operational for 16 years and are designed to encourage beginners and those of more advanced abilities to proceed further with confidence under the guidance of professional artist Roger Lewis, past President of the long established Society of Graphic Fine Art.
The classes consist of six – week sessions to introduce beginners to basic drawing and painting skills enabling them to proceed logically and with confidence to achieve works of art to be proud of. To encourage their artistry further and try different methods, media and subjects.
Students joining with some past experience may now wish to extend themselves along certain lines or diversify and try completely new techniques. Initial personal assessment with the tutor and student [ perhaps some lateral thinking! ] will establish a suitable direction to take or develop further along a tried and trusted route. All students are expected to provide their own materials although a suggested list is recommended at time of booking.
The courses are intended to be creatively stimulating in the company of twelve like – minded people enjoying the enormous pleasure art can bring to our lives by opening up new ways of artistic expression with new skills to master in a pleasant studio environment.
This exhibition consists of selected paintings and drawings with a wide range of subjects produced by the students over the course of the last year and show the high standards that can be achieved with the aforementioned skills by both beginners and more advanced artists. Most of the pictures are for sale.
