I enjoy the simplicity and directness of linoprints. I like that no two prints are the same. and I love that you’re never quite sure how it’s going to work out until you’ve lifted the paper – but hopefully the image produced will bring a smile to someone’s face.

I was born and brought up in Cornwall. I did my foundation course at Cheltenham and then went on to study at Camberwell College of Art. I now live in Kent with my three children. I work out of my own studio overlooking my garden, but a childhood spent rock-pooling and mackerel fishing has instilled a lifelong love of the sea, and my main inspiration still seems to be anything fishy!

I work mainly in black and white – I love the boldness of the images created. although recently I have started to experiment with colour – either hand touching prints with artists’ inks or adding elements of collage to my work. I’ve also been trying out some multi registration prints, where more than one lino ‘plate’ is used to create the finished image.
