Venice: By Zsuzsanna Pataki
In this best-selling collection Zsuzsanna explores various facets of these much loved islands once governed by the Serenissima. Industrial, military, mercantile, romantic… it is all there: solid gilded structures and their sparkling reflections, dainty flesh tones looming over the green-gold murky lagune, with a lingering presence of glory and decay.
Zsuzsanna Pataki is an industrial colorist with an MA in Italian, a student of cities and peoples through the ages. Constantly on the lookout for beauty in unexpected places, she captures the history and atmosphere of a place with a quick hand, mostly working with the palette knife. She works on commission and is happy to make it an interactive experience.
